Glasgow Free Walking Tour
Everyday at 10:30
When you think about Scotland, you probably think about centuries-old castles and impressive lakes featuring some delightful landscapes. Well, you can have it all in this 1-day tour featuring the seaside town of Oban, Loch Lomond and Inveraray.
After leaving Edinburgh and Glasgow, we will head west towards Loch Lomond, one of the most beautiful lakes in Scotland. Our first stop will be the conservation village of Luss, where you'll be able to wander around and enjoy the surroundings of Loch Lomond.
We'll then deep into the Highlands, passing through magnificent landscapes such as Loch Awe and Kilchurn Castle. The guide will share the incredible history of the castle, once Campbell Clan's fortress, while you enjoy the beautiful scenery where it is located.
By lunchtime, we'll have reached what is probably the best stop of the tour: Oban, a quaint seaside town. Here you'll be able to have lunch (Oban is famous for its fresh and delicious seafood!) and enjoy the beautiful shores and countryside that surrounds this little and colourful town. You will have time after lunch to walk around Oban, taste Scotland's smallest distillery or climb McCaig's Tower to enjoy a stunning view.
On the way back to Edinburgh, we'll go to the seat of the Dukes of Argyll, head of the Campbell Clan at Inveraray, where we'll stop so you can drink in the beauty of Loch Fyne. Here you will get the opportunity to visit Inveraray Castle*, one of the earliest examples of Gothic Revival architecture.
After Inveraray, we'll start our journey back to Glasgow. It begins by travelling along and over the Rest and Be Thankful Pass, a great way to end your day since it's a famous and beautiful pass between two valleys and Loch Long and Loch Fyne with a history dating back to the 1700s.
*Note: Tickets to Inveraray Castle are not included.

Brilliant day trip - strongly recommend booking! A must if you visit Edinburgh. We wanted to explore outside of edinburgh for the day and this was ideal. Booking was so easy. The pick up point super central. Rich and the team very welcoming. We spent the day visiting the kelpies, Loch Lomond and Stirling castle. Rich did an amazing job with engaging and informative commentary spliced with some tunes! If you have a spare day - book this tour! You won't regret it!
The guide for our tour was very friendly, knowledgeable, and interesting. He told a good mix of history together with pop culture facts and Scottish myths. Stirling castle and the distillery were fascinating and Loch Lomond was beautiful. The guide even had Scottish music and folk songs to go along with the locations. The only complaint I might raise is that I wanted a little more time in each location, but otherwise this tour was great!
The tour was very interesting and funny. Our tour guide Fraser loves his job and that made the difference. Much love from Spain
